We provide fully guided small group tours open to all ages and abilities.
Explore the worlds largest city, ski or board three of Japan's best ski areas , get a close look at the fascinating 'hells valley' bathing monkeys, visit famous Buddhist temples and settle into the groove of great food, amazing powder snow and relaxing in hot springs.
While you apply yourself to this task, your bilingual guide will take care of everything else. Your guide is your ticket to the real Japan, providing insights and helping you see things and places that would otherwise be overlooked. They will take care of all the logistics, act as your own translator/ liaison when needed, and do their best to help make your trip as enjoyable as possible.
All transfers and transport on these tours are organized for maximum convenience and ease of travel. On our Nagano/ Niigata Explorer tour there is no need to lug your cumbersome skis or board plus luggage on and off often crowded public trains and buses. We make use of Japan's excellent courier services, high speed trains and professional drivers in quality chartered vehicles to transport you and your luggage where you need to go in relaxed style.
A minimum of 5 people is needed for a tour to go ahead. The maximum is 8 people.These tours can be booked as private group tours.
All tours depart from and return to Narita Airport. Alternate join points can be organized if you are already in Japan before the start date.

After a number of trips to Japan I thought I had the country pretty dialled. A guided tour with Rene in February 2010 totally changed my appreciation of the country.
Rene's fluency and knowledge enabled us to go 'deep undercover' on an authentic Japanese experience enjoyed by few westerners. Rene's skill goes far beyond reading signs and preventing you trying to order lunch at a gelatine wholesaler. He knows the regional cuisines, the best local restaurants and Ryokan - places often hidden from the hapless tourist by the language barrier.
Even in those areas that have excellent tourist facilities (and lots of Westerners) Rene can identify the quintessential travel experience missed by the package tours; whether a peaceful onsen or raucous local Izakaya.
